 Warranty & Returns Policy
1. Warranty
1.1 Sol Umbra Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”) warrants that its sun‑shade, beach tent, cabana, and related shade products (“Products”) shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”).
1.2 In the event a Product fails during the Warranty Period due to a manufacturing defect or defect in workmanship, we will, at our option:
- repair the Product free of charge, or
- replace the Product with an equivalent new item, or
- issue a refund (in limited circumstances, at our discretion).
1.3 This warranty is limited and does not cover damage or defects caused by:
- accidents, misuse, abuse, or neglect;
- improper care, handling, or storage;
- exposure to abnormal conditions (e.g. extreme weather beyond design limits);
- normal wear and tear;
- alterations or modifications not authorized by Sol Umbra.
1.4 To make a warranty claim, the purchaser must:
- provide proof of purchase (e.g. order number, receipt);
- deliver or return the Product (or affected part) to us (shipping cost to us to be borne by the purchaser, unless otherwise agreed);
- reasonably cooperate in inspection or verification of the defect.
1.5 If we repair or replace a Product under warranty, the repaired or replacement item will be covered under the remaining original warranty period (i.e. not a new full year).
1.6 This warranty is in addition to (i.e. does not replace) any statutory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Returns, Exchanges & “Change of Mind” Policy
2.1 We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied with a Product, you may request a return, exchange or refund (at our discretion) under the following conditions:
- The request must be made within 21 days from the date of purchase;
- The Product must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition (including packaging, tags, and any accessories);
- The purchaser must contact us with order details and intent to return before sending the item back.
2.2 The purchaser is responsible for return shipping costs, unless the return is due to our error (e.g. wrong product shipped, defective product delivered).
2.3 Shipping and handling charges paid by the purchaser in the original transaction are not refundable (except where returns are due to our error).
2.4 Once we receive the returned Product and verify it meets the return conditions, we will process the exchange, replacement, or refund in a reasonable time.
2.5 If a refund is approved, the refund will be made to the original method of payment, less any nonrefundable shipping/handling as above.
3. Additional Terms
3.1 All warranty and return rights are void if the Product has been altered, repaired, or modified by anyone other than Sol Umbra or its authorized agents.
3.2 Colours shown in images or online may vary slightly from actual Product due to screen/display differences.
3.3 For customers outside Australia: in case of import duties, taxes or customs charges, the customer is responsible for paying those costs.
3.4 We may refuse returns or warranty claims that do not comply with the above terms.
3.5 We reserve the right to update or modify this Warranty & Returns Policy from time to time; the version applicable to each sale is the version in force at time of purchase.
